OVERVIEW:Role Responsibilities:
Mid‑level, business‑minded attorney with a strong litigation background supporting the Legal Department’s emerging global litigation center of excellence. Partners across the Legal Department and global organization to manage a complex, multi‑subject global litigation and dispute portfolio, while supporting litigation systems, reporting, and leadership presentations.
Advice & Counsel:
Support stakeholders on matters
Transaction and/or Dispute Management:
Contract Drafting and Negotiation. Build upon prior transactional knowledge and skill related to commercial agreements (e.g. NDAs, SOWs, vendor agreements, SaaS/technology agreements), with goal of building skills to draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements. Expected to directly negotiate with third parties disputes. Participates in disputes and/or litigation management related to:

This role is a key hire in building a centralized Global Litigation Center of Excellence, a newly created function that consolidates litigation previously handled by subject‑matter attorneys.

The litigation portfolio is broad, active, and high‑volume, spanning pre‑litigation through trial across all banners (DSG, Foot Locker, Game Changer).

Primary objective is to bring more litigation work in‑house, reduce outside counsel spend, and create scalable, repeatable litigation workflows.
Leadership:
Legal Department Leadership. Expected to work with and assist Legal Analysts.
Organizational Leadership. Participates and assists in projects, as requested.
Legal Department Collaboration. Receive and review legal work from stakeholders and members of the legal department.
Subject Matter and/or Practice Type Expertise:

Immediate ownership of litigation matters across the full lifecycle (demand letters, discovery, arbitration, motions, hearings, trial).

Heavy exposure to commercial litigation, real estate disputes, arbitrations, subpoenas, and investigations; complex wage & hour matters remain in scope.

Arbitration experience strongly preferred, given frequency across the portfolio.

Partner closely with outside counsel while progressively insourcing work.

No direct reports initially; strong opportunity to grow with the team as the litigation COE scales.

3-5 years of experience

Experience practicing law, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
