Job Description :Who are we?

While the name Diageo may be unfamiliar to you, our brands have most likely been with you while you create unforgettable moments of connection and celebration. Imagine crafting the future some of the most well-loved spirits brands across the world, including Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Bundaberg Rum and building possibilities within growing brands such as Don Julio, Ciroc, Ello and Aviation Gin. By joining Diageo Australia, you will inspire an exceptional team around you, with offices and teams working from 8 locations across Australia, to build incredible performance and unleash your own potential.

What will your role be?

As a Packaging Shift Leader (Day Shift) at our Huntingwood site, you will lead, coach and inspire a high-performing packaging team to deliver world-class results across Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, Cost and Morale.

This is a hands-on leadership role, spending the majority of your time on the shop floor, where you’ll translate strategy into action, drive Manufacturing Excellence and build strong team capability in a fast-moving FMCG environment.

What does this role look like for you?

  • Lead safe, high-quality operations by ensuring full compliance with HSE, Quality, Food Safety and regulatory standards (ISO, HACCP, FSSC).
  • Drive Manufacturing Excellence through MMS practices, continuous improvement tools and disciplined daily management.
  • Deliver production to plan by managing day-to-day operational complexity, line performance and short-term scheduling.
  • Build a capable, engaged team through coaching, performance management and structured capability development.
  • Own shift performance and cost control, making tactical decisions to meet AOP targets across people, materials and assets.
  • Partner with maintenance and planning teams to support reliability, asset care and continuous improvement outcomes.

What will you bring to the table?

  • 4+ years’ experience in a production supervisory or shift leadership role within FMCG manufacturing.
  • Proven people leadership capability, leading and developing teams of 10–20 operators.
  • Strong operational mindset, with ownership of SQPCDM performance metrics.
  • Continuous improvement capability, with exposure to Lean, TPM, Six Sigma or Manufacturing Excellence frameworks.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, waste reduction and cost control.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science or Business (or equivalent experience), with packaging or beverage manufacturing exposure desirable.
