About the role
Job Purpose
The LCL Planner is responsible for planning, optimizing, and executing Less-than-Container-Load (LCL) consolidations to ensure maximum container utilization, cost efficiency, and service reliability.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan and optimize LCL consolidations for 20’, 40’, and 40’ HC containers
· Analyze cargo dimensions, weight, stackability, and special handling requirements
· Maximize space utilization while ensuring cargo safety and compliance
· Coordinate with Customer Service, Operations, Warehouse, and Transport teams
· Coordinate with PEN & JHB station Customer Service, Operations on weekly consol planning + advance booking with carriers to secure the space.
· Ensure consolidation plans align with vessel schedules and cut-off times
· Provide clear loading instructions to warehouse teams
· Maintain accurate planning data in TMS / operational systems
· Support customers and internal stakeholders with load feasibility checks
· Ensure adherence to SOPs, ISO standards, and quality requirements
· Need to plan & manage BCN (Buyer’s consol box) for some customer as per business requirement.

Skills & Qualifications
· Strong knowledge of LCL ocean freight operations
· Understanding of container dimensions and stowage principles
· Analytical and planning skills
· Strong communication and coordination abilities
· Experience with TMS / CW1 or similar systems
