As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in building, automating, and maintaining the infrastructure and platforms that support mission‑critical applications across DHL’s global landscape.

You will guide and collaborate with development teams, providing technical leadership throughout the platform lifecycle — from requirement analysis and design to implementation and deployment. When complex issues arise within the API gateway or platform, you will drive deep‑dive investigations**, collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams**, and ensure timely resolution of incidents that cannot be handled at lower support levels. Your ability to analyze platform behavior, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and optimize API traffic flows will be key to ensuring resilient and scalable operations.

Vendor collaboration will also be an essential part of your role, especially when addressing product‑level defects, performance anomalies, or vulnerabilities tied to Apigee and related components. As the architectural authority, you will evaluate platform enhancements, propose improvements, and drive the implementation of changes across production and non‑production API environments, ensuring alignment with global technology standards and security requirements.

For any challenges tied to API security, authentication, authorization, traffic management, or cloud‑native integration patterns, you are our superhero. You will collaborate with teams responsible for networking, cloud engineering, security, and infrastructure to ensure seamless integration across systems. This also includes working with technologies associated with firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, proxies, and cloud platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud, all of which play an essential role in supporting our API landscape.

Last but not least, you will ensure that APIs delivered under your guidance are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with DHL’s global digitalization vision — enabling the business to innovate and deliver excellence every day.

Ready to embark on the journey? Here’s what we are looking for:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, we are looking for someone with strong expertise in Apigee API Management as a mandatory skill, along with solid hands-on experience in Apigee Hybrid.

You should have deep expertise in Apigee X, along with strong hands‑on experience with key DevOps tools and platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift, Helm, NGINX, Open Resty, Ansible, Git, and GitHub Actions. A strong background in observability and monitoring is essential, particularly with Fluentd, Splunk, Click House, Vector (log pipeline), Prometheus, Grafana, Filebeat, Logstash, Dynatrace, and Open Telemetry. Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud is important, along with familiarity in using ITSM tools like Service Now. You should also have a good understanding of NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and MongoDB. Additionally, knowledge of Jenkins, Zabbix, Automic, Spring Boot, API development, and F5 Big-IP would be considered an advantage.
