
Project Manager, Chief of Staff - National Tax
About the role
We are looking for a Tax Chief of Staff with previous accounting or professional services experience, to join our Tax Offering leadership team and provide strategic support and guidance to our practice’s key projects and initiatives. You will be responsible for driving and overseeing the execution of priorities within the Tax practice, ensuring alignment with our business goals and objectives, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration and communication.
Work you’ll do
- Collaborate with the Offering leadership and other senior leaders to determine and prioritize the Offering’s strategies, goals, and objectives.
- Oversee the execution of key strategic priority areas within the Tax Offerings ensuring alignment with the Offering’s vision and mission.
- Develop and drive strategic communications that impact across various areas of Tax.
- Coordinate and facilitate tax leadership meetings, preparing agendas, materials, and action items and manage cadence regarding leadership and Offering meetings.
- Assisting with planning, talent acquisition, retention and development for Tax.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation of the Offering.
- Exercise exceptional tact and discretion with confidential information.
- Operate as an extension of and leverage to the leader being supported.
The Team
As a Tax Chief of Staff, you will work closely with Offering leaders, Tax leadership and other senior leaders to plan, execute, and monitor the progress of key priorities and activities. You will also act as a liaison between the Offering and other internal and external stakeholders, such as clients, partners, and vendors. You will help identify, advise, and resolve issues, manage risks, optimize resources, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of related experience with Deloitte Tax in a client facing or management level support role
- Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
Preferred:
- Strong project management/delivery skills for working with senior leaders
- Ability to think both strategically and tactically
- Strong executive communication skills
- Demonstrated skill to influence, articulate, and implement the business and Talent strategy; thought leadership (includes innovation/creativity, leveraging best practices and outside eminence)
- Experience with or strong working knowledge of the internal Talent organization
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $114,600 to $191,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
