What you'll achieve

As a Senior Principal Systems Development Engineer (Escalation Engineer), you will be responsible for leading the resolution of the most critical customer escalations while mentoring the team and driving strategic technical direction. You will work with Power Store customers, Product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders on severe escalations and trending issues that shape product strategy and customer success. If you're a storage expert who excels at leading through complex technical and business challenges in a fast-paced environment, your place is with the Power Store Customer Engineering team.

You will:

• Apply deep technical expertise to resolve the toughest customer issues and orchestrate resolution efforts during severe escalations

• Collaborate closely with R&D and business units to resolve customer challenges, gather insights, and transfer knowledge across the organization

• Identify and provide resolutions to diverse, complex technical problems while recognizing and investigating trending issues

• Technically lead and mentor the team, organizing and sharing knowledge to elevate collective capabilities

• Drive product enhancements and strategic direction based on customer insights and technical analysis

Essential Requirements

• Bachelors/master's with 12+ years of experience in advanced technical positions (technical support, development, solution engineering, or solution architect) within complex IT environments

• Proven track record working directly with customers with strong sense of urgency and ability to lead resolution efforts during severe escalations

• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure and storage, with comprehensive understanding of broader enterprise IT environments

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

• Hands-on experience with Linux, VMware, Windows Server, plus solid SAN and networking knowledge. Demonstrated capability to motivate and direct workgroups, mentor engineers, and influence cross-functional teams to achieve results

Desirable Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with storage systems, virtualization platforms, VDI solutions (VMware/Citrix), enterprise databases, and storage performance tuning

• Strong scripting capabilities (Python, PowerShell, bash) and deep database expertise (SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) with clustering solutions experience
