Senior Manager, Software Engineering

As the Senior Manager for UDS (Unstructured Data Storage), you will lead the strategy, evolution, and operations of large‑scale storage platforms, including Dell Object Scale, Power Scale (Isilon), S3‑based object storage, you’ll oversee multi‑site clusters, ensure performance and availability, drive modernization initiatives, and guide a high‑performing engineering team.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Senior Manager on our UDS Team in Bangalore.What you’ll achieve As a Software Engineering Sr. Manager, this role involves end‑to‑end management of UDS platforms, ensuring the delivery of highly available, secure, and scalable storage services. It includes driving performance engineering, observability, automation, and lifecycle upgrades while enabling seamless hybrid and multi‑cloud integrations across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The position leads a cross‑functional engineering and operations team focused on platform reliability, shaping technology roadmaps, modernization strategies, SLAs/SLOs, and continuous improvement. Additionally, the role plays a key part in accelerating AI transformation through the adoption of AI tools, AI‑driven development, agents, and agentic development models.

You will:

• Contribute to the design, architecture, development and maintenance of high availability and high stability software system in hybrid/multi clouds environment.

• Contribute to the design and architecture of high-quality, complex systems and software environments

• Prepare, review, and evaluate software/storage specifications for products and systems

• Contribute to the development and implementation of test strategies for complex software products and systems/for storage products and systems

• 12–15 years of software engineering experience using languages such as C/C++, Java, and Python, with strong expertise in infrastructure solutions and a solid storage domain background.

• Proven people leadership, atleast 2 years of experience managing diverse, cross‑functional teams, nurturing talent, and building high‑performance engineering culture.

• Exceptional communication and influence skills to act as the bridge between leadership and teams, enabling clarity, alignment, and transparency of goals, strategy, and expectations.

• Strong execution leadership, driving clear goal‑setting, effective prioritization, operational discipline, and seamless stakeholder alignment to ensure predictable delivery through any Agile methodologies & particpating in required Scrum ceremonies and guide teams

• Deep experience in performance management, including leading performance reviews, promotions, talent calibrations, and creating actionable improvement plans when needed.
