Anodizing Process Engineer

What you’ll achieve You will be part of a growing team of technical subject matter experts who are passionate about driving technology incubations enhancing the customer experience. In this role you are part of a global interdisciplinary design and technology organization where you will be collaborating with teammates, product engineering, marketing, corporate sustainability and other critical stakeholders. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for technology, an open mind, and a desire to continuously learn new things. The primary focus of this role will be to work directly with our suppliers to ensure process meets performance requirements, cosmetic requirements and drive process improvements to improve cost.

You will:

  • Develop and maintain expertise in anodizing processes and technologies
  • Collaborate with anodizing suppliers to identify and implement process improvements
  • Analyze and optimize anodizing processes to reduce costs and improve yield rates
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of anodizing manufacturing lines to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies related to anodizing process to improve efficiency, quality, and cost

  • 10+ years of experience in anodizing, surface finishing, or electrochemical processes.
  • Strong understanding of aluminum metallurgy and surface chemistry
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of sulfuric acid anodizing, bath chemistry control, additives, sealing processes, and dyeing methods.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems, with a strong focus on root cause analysis and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders to drive business outcomes and ensure seamless communication.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change across multiple stakeholders, with a strong focus on driving business outcomes and implementing process improvements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization, with a strong understanding of how to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Proven ability to drive technical excellence and best practices within the team, with a strong focus on ensuring high-quality engineering solutions and continuous process improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Surface Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with DELL's product development cycle with a passion to bring new technologies from idea to reality.
  • Experience with typical finishes and surface treatments used for electronics
  • Experience working in electronics supply chain in an ODM model.
