Location: This position will be based in either San Jose, Costa Rica or Sao Paulo, Brazil. This will be a hybrid role with in-office expectations.
About the Role: Databricks is seeking a qualified Attorney to join Databricks growing commercial legal team. You will be the first attorney hired to provide direct legal support to our growing commercial business in the Latin America (LatAM) region. Reporting to the Director, Assistant General Counsel, you will negotiate Master Cloud Services Agreements (MCSA), DPAs, NDAs, SOWs, and other contract
You have a minimum of 4+ years of relevant commercial legal transactional experience with direct experience operating in the LatAM region. You have meaningful experience negotiating complex SaaS commercial transactions and strong knowledge/experience counseling on legal issues related to data
What You Will Do- Negotiate, draft, and close MCSAs with LatAM prospects and customers, ensuring compliance with data
What We Look For
- Minimum of four (4) years of technology transactions experience, either at a law firm and/or in-house Attorney role.
- Fluency in Portuguese and Spanish; native speakers preferred.
- Relevant commercial transactional experience working for and/or supporting cloud-based software companies, including an understanding of consumption/commit-based business models and the quarterly sales cadence.
- Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and closing complex software sell-side transactions.
- Proven ability to successfully navigate and counsel on complex legal issues while balancing and/or mitigating material risk.
- Able to prioritize competing demands and be responsive to client expectations in a fast-paced environment within a limited time period.* *
