The Principle Quality Engineer is responsible for interfacing with internal and external customers when quality related topics arise. This individual will continuously assess quality capabilities for both product and processes. This position will play a key role in our Elements Value Stream. This position is part of the Quality Assurance department and will be located in Redruth, UK.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Drive internal PPM improvements using iDT&R (Internal Defect Tracking & Resolution)
- Drive external PPM improvements using CDT&R (Customer Defect Tracking & Resolution)
- Maintain and update value stream quality systems using standard APQP tools
- Lead Quality related Kaizen events for your respective value stream
- Collaborate with manufacturing to reduce scrap for your respective value stream
Essential Requirements
- Engineering degree (or equivalent) or recognized Engineering apprenticeship program
- A proven background in quality engineering within a regulated manufacturing environment (i.e. Aerospace, Automotive or Manufacturing)
- Experience with APQP core tools (Experience in both development and maintenance)
- Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and DoE (Design of Experiments)
- Experienced in Root Cause/Corrective action process
Desirable Skills & Experience
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience using Six Sigma tools
- ASQ or Six Sigma certifications
