The Lead Computer Integration Engineer position is responsible for evaluating, configuring, and maintaining computer systems across hardware, software, firmware, and BIOS domains. This role is responsible for managing system testing and qualification, maintaining accurate configuration control, and processing and assessing change orders. The primary responsibilities will be focused on evaluating computer system changes including hardware components, software, firmware, and BIOS updates, and assessing the impact of proposed changes on performance, reliability, compatibility, and lifecycle support.

This position reports to the Instrument Operations Manager and is part of the Global Instrument Operations and Global Supply Chain Organization. This position is located in Penang, Malaysia and will be an on-site role. While the role is officially under Pall—the Danaher legal entity operating in Malaysia—it is dedicated exclusively to supporting Cepheid’s business. Like Pall, Cepheid is one of Danaher’s 15+ operating companies.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Investigate product and process issues, resolve Change Orders, and implement materials management updates through direct coordination with Computer Integrators and cross-functional engineering teams
• Maintain alignment of part qualification and supplier status by coordinating with Supply Chain Operations and Supplier Quality Engineering and ensuring accuracy and consistency within PLM documentation and the approved supplier list
• Define, execute, and evaluate system test plans for configuration and system changes, analyze test results against functionality, performance, and quality requirements, and troubleshoot system-level technical issues
• Manage and control system configurations to ensure consistency between approved configurations, deployed systems, and licensing, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements
• Implement approved system configurations and changes with computer integrators, qualify alternate components including power supplies and peripherals, and coordinate vendor documentation, compatibility, availability, and licensing requirements

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field with a minimum of 7 years of industry experience supporting computer or system-level engineering environments, or Master’s degree in the same fields with a minimum of 5 years of related industry experience
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience performing component-level and subsystem-level testing of computer hardware and integrated system configurations
• Demonstrated experience defining, executing, and analyzing test plans and validation activities for computer systems, hardware configurations, or system changes
• Proven experience implementing technical solutions based on system analysis, test results, and engineering requirements within a regulated or manufacturing environment
• Documented experience producing and maintaining structured technical documentation, test reports, and system configuration records in accordance with engineering or quality standards

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience and knowledge of ISO/FDA-regulated industry, specifically with handling PHI
• EMC compliance testing to IEC 61326
• Hands-on experience implementing OS images at a computer integrator or manufacturing partner.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and lifecycle planning.
