As Senior Software Engineer I, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementation of Cepheid next generation software products.

This position is part of the R&D Department and will be located in Bangalore, IDC, India. This position reports to the Engineering Manager, R&D and will be an onsite role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Develop and maintain molecular diagnostics application software using Java and Angular frameworks
• Implement automated testing strategies across unit, component, and system levels using industry-standard tools
• Execute software development projects using Agile lean methodologies with defined sprint deliverables and velocity metrics
• Perform formal design reviews and generate detailed design documentation aligned with regulated software development standards
• Interface with firmware, hardware, software quality, and technical support teams to ensure integrated system functionality in diagnostics platforms

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a full stack developer using Java and Angular with an engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Proficient in Java-based backend development and Angular-based front-end development with demonstrated experience deploying applications on AWS cloud infrastructure
• Demonstrated expertise in low-level software design engineering including memory management, performance optimization, and hardware-software interfacing
• Advanced experience applying Object Oriented Design principles and implementing reusable components using established design patterns
• Proven track record of delivering production-grade software in regulated or high-reliability environments using structured development methodologies and version control systems

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• As an AWS certified developer
• A background in leveraging AI to improve operational performance.
• Experience working with distributed teams in a global setting.
