  • The Global Category Leader
  • MRO is responsible for optimizing all spend within the assigned category. This person will work with corporate and Op Co procurement as well as senior level stakeholders to co-create strategies that deliver cost reduction, lower total cost of ownership, improved processes and efficiencies, and added value for the business and its employees, all while ensuring adherence to company culture, policy and differing global regulatory requirements. It will require staying current with industry trends, best practices and future possibilities while also leading projects, educating business partners and being the ”subject matter expert” in this space.

Key Activities

  • Analyzing complex and fragmented MRO spend data and identify cost savings / optimization while managing budgets for specific MRO categories and projects.

  • Leading RFPs / RFIs for technology solutions.

  • Standardize best in class MRO inventory management

  • Serve as the SME for MRO sourcing and negotiations while standardizing best‑in‑class MRO inventory management practices.

  • Driving digital transformation through strategic MRO sourcing.

This position reports to the Omics Chief Financial Officer with a strong dotted line into the Danaher VP Strategic Procurement, Indirect. The position will be based remotely.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop Strategy: Create and implement long-term MRO category strategies aligned with business goals, focusing on total cost of ownership (TCO).

  • Perform Market Analysis: Research MRO market trends, new technologies, competitor offerings, and supply chain dynamics.

  • Manage Suppliers, Cost & Risk: Source, select, manage, and evaluate strategic MRO suppliers while leading negotiations, identifying cost‑savings opportunities, managing budgets, tracking KPIs, and mitigating risks.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Build strong relationships with MRO. Plant and manufacturing leaders, Finance, Facilities, Legal, and other internal teams to understand needs and drive alignment.

  • Oversee Contract & Performance: Oversee contract implementation, renewals, and performance against SLAs, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelors Degree required, Supply Chain preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years of Indirect Sourcing experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience analyzing sourcing / spend data, benchmarking total cost, internal stakeholder management, utilizing data to create opportunity for improvement.

  • Experience specifically with MRO related categories such as Infrastructure Maintenance, Production Equipment, Material Handling, Tools and Consumables, fluids and lubricants, machining supplies, HVAC, Power Transmission, Safety and PPE, Janitorial, Office Supplies.

  • Superior ability to present fact-based business cases to managers and leaders.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to other company sites, which may include occasional international travel

  • Working in the medical devices, life sciences, consumer goods or healthcare industry

The annual salary range for this role is $115,000 - 130,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
