This position is part of the Scientific Applications Support department located in either Coralville, Iowa; Boulder, Colorado; or Raleigh, North Carolina locations and will be onsite. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Support biosecurity screening of custom nucleic acid sequences, ensuring full compliance with IDT’s Biosecurity policies and applicable regulations.

• Communicate effectively with customers to provide timely pre‑ and post‑ sales technical support, including product guidance, design consultation, and sequence optimization for a growing Synthetic Biology product portfolio.

• Answer Synthetic Biology-related customer inquiries received by phone, email, and chat and document all customer interactions in IDT’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.

• Troubleshoot product use and applications by using customer provided data and information, as well as IDT sales and manufacturing databases.

• Support complaint triage and troubleshooting efforts, expediting issue resolution to ensure customer satisfaction.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry) or related scientific field

• 5+ years of experience with genomics applications in an industry or academic research laboratory environment

• Advanced understanding of DNA structure, cloning, molecular biology, and genetics, as well as experience with DNA search and design tools such as BLAST, DNA, Primer3, etc.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify key issues, and solve problems using critical thinking skills

• Excellent communications skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• M.S or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry)

• 2+ years of experience as a Scientific Applications Scientist or in a customer-facing scientific support role preferred.

• Working knowledge and/or experience supporting biosecurity screening

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

The annual salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $90,000.00-$100,000.00*.* This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
