The Principal Product Compliance Engineer provides technical leadership to ensure Leica products meet global and China‑specific regulatory, safety, EMC, and environmental requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle. The role defines compliance strategies for NPI, localization, and sustaining engineering efforts by integrating regulatory expectations early, guiding risk management, and ensuring the timely and accurate execution of all compliance testing and certification activities. This position collaborates closely with R&D, RA/QA, Operations, Product Management, Supply Chain, and global compliance teams, as well as accredited external laboratories, to prevent delays and support successful product releases. Key challenges include navigating evolving regulatory frameworks, supporting complex electromechanical product architectures, and balancing engineering constraints with compliance rigor while improving documentation, test methods, and cross‑functional alignment.
