AI Developer & Service Automation (f/m/d)
The AI Developer & Service Automation is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining AI‑powered solutions that measurably improve productivity, efficiency, and revenue generation across a global service organization.
This role plays a critical part in accelerating the organization’s evolution toward AI‑native, predictive, and data‑driven service operations, with a strong emphasis on predicting and preventing future service incidents, enabling remote and proactive service models, and supporting scalable revenue growth.
The position sits within Global Service / Service Transformation & Digitalization and works in close collaboration with Service Operations, R&D, Product Management, IT, Data & Analytics, and regional service teams worldwide.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESAI Solution Design & Development

Design, develop, and deploy AI‑powered tools and applications that enhance global service productivity, improve resolution speed, and reduce manual effort.

Build robust AI pipelines covering data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.

Translate service use cases (e.g., diagnostics, remote resolution, case documentation, forecasting) into scalable AI solutions.
Predictive & Preventive Service Capabilities
-
Develop predictive models to identify early warning signals of potential service incidents, failures, or quality deviations.
-
Enable data‑driven prediction of service demand, incident likelihood, part consumption, and technician workload to improve operational planning.

Continuously improve model accuracy and explainability to support decision‑making by service managers and engineers.
Productivity & Efficiency Enablement
-
Implement AI solutions that automate or accelerate service workflows such as case triage, documentation, knowledge retrieval, diagnostics, and root‑cause analysis.

Support remote service and “fix‑it‑right‑first‑time” strategies through AI‑assisted insights and recommendations.

Measure and communicate tangible productivity, efficiency, and cost‑reduction impact of AI solutions.
Revenue Growth & Value Creation
-
Support revenue growth initiatives with AI models enabling service contract optimization, upsell/cross‑sell insights, and customer usage‑based recommendations.

Partner with Commercial and Service leadership to quantify value impact and prioritize high‑ROI use cases.
Operations, Maintenance & Governance
-
Own deployed AI solutions end‑to‑end, including performance monitoring, retraining, documentation, and lifecycle management.

Ensure solutions comply with data governance, security, regulatory, and quality requirements relevant to a global service environment.

Collaborate with IT and platform teams on scalable, secure architecture and cloud deployment.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Graduated with a bachelor's degree in CS or “STEM” majors. Masters / PhD preferred.

5 years of overall software development.

Proven experience in Machine Learning / Generative AI (NLP, RAG systems), Data Structures and Data Handling.

Strong programming skills in Python, APIs integration, AI model deployment,

Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, and with Cloud services (AWS/Azure) preferred).

Fluent in English, German language proficiency is a plus.
For this position, in accordance with the collective agreement for salaried employees in the metalworking industry, a minimum gross monthly salary of € 4,500 (based on full-time employment) is stipulated. The actual remuneration depends on qualifications and professional experience and may significantly exceed the minimum salary.
