The Tooling Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of tooling systems through the design, development, and implementation of preventive maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in tooling design, maintenance, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced assembly environment in a Controlled Manufacturing Environment (clean room).

This position reports to the Operations Manager and is part of the Manufacturing team located in Tijuana, Baja California, México and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for tooling systems.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure tooling reliability and performance.

The essential requirements of the job include

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in tooling engineering, with a focus on equipment and fixture preventive maintenance.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as assembly, stamping, injection molding and CNC machining.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

• Travel Requirements: May require occasional travel to suppliers or other facilities in USA.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, and occasional lifting of tooling components.
• Physical stress required: Visual and Manual.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience working in ISO 13485 regulated environments.
• Experience with GD&T, material selection, and tolerance analysis.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
