The Staff Data Engineer (Reporting & Analytics) is responsible for designing and improving Danaher’s data management & analytics function. The primary objective of this role is to build analytics strategies that align with business priorities and drive measurable business outcomes.

This position reports to the Sr. Director – Data Engineering and is part of the Core Technology & Planning is onsite based out of Bangalore,India.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Data Engineer builds and maintains analytics-ready datasets optimized for reporting and dashboards for consumption by all Danaher Opcos.

• Enable self-service access through semantic layers, catalogues, and APIs, empowering data scientists, analysts, and business teams to consume data without deep pipeline knowledge.

• Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into clear, accurate metrics.

• Ensure data accuracy, freshness, and consistency across reporting surfaces

• Implement testing, documentation, and quality checks for data analytics

The essential requirements of the job include:

• 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, reporting, or business intelligence roles

• Advanced expertise in Py Spark and building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for analytics and reporting

• Hands-on delivery of Fabric or Databricks lakehouse solutions using medallion architecture (Dataflow Gen2, Fabric Pipelines, Py Spark Notebooks, One Lake/Lakehouse)

• Strong command of Power BI architecture, including Direct Query, Composite Models, RLS/OLS, and dashboards

• Proven experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and designing high‑volume, highly available cloud data pipelines on Azure or AWS

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel to Washington DC and global Danaher sites, up to 10%

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
