Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Hands-On Rust Engineering Team Lead to lead a team of talented engineers while remaining deeply involved in architecture, design, and development. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and hands-on engineering in a fast-paced cybersecurity environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership (Hands-On)

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and selected front-end components for our platform

• Lead the implementation of high-throughput data ingestion and processing pipelines for large-scale security data

• Integrate AI-driven analytics capabilities and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability

• Architect and develop APIs and integrations with a wide range of IT and security tools

• Ensure robust security design, secure coding practices, and compliance with industry standards

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex, cross-stack production issues

Team Leadership & Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, including onboarding, coaching, and career development

• Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design reviews, and engineering best practices

• Own technical decision-making, architecture discussions, and trade-off analysis

• Collaborate closely with product, research, DevOps, and security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

• Plan and execute sprint goals, manage technical debt, and ensure predictable delivery

Skills & Qualifications Required:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

• At least 4 years of experience as a Team Leader.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on experience with Rust

• Strong fundamentals in computer science, cybersecurity, and networking

• Proficiency in Rust; familiarity with Go, Java, and C++ is an advantage

• Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, and microservices architectures

• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases

• Experience with real-time data processing, analytics frameworks, and modern front-end technologies

• Expertise in data pipeline technologies, the ELK stack, and Apache Kafka

• Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog and Vector

• Proven experience building high-throughput, low-latency systems serving millions of users

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SIEM platforms and machine learning applications in cybersecurity

• Familiarity with big data technologies, time-series databases, and data warehousing solutions

• Knowledge of GraphQL, infrastructure-as-code tools, and service mesh technologies

• Contributions to open-source projects or relevant technical publications

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

• Data pipelines and ETL processes

• Distributed systems (Kafka, Flink/Spark, Redis)

• ELK stack for log ingestion, search, and analytics

• Cloud-native and serverless architectures

• API design, versioning, and governance

• Performance tuning and scalability for large-scale systems

• Security best practices (OAuth 2.0, encryption, data protection)

• DevOps, CI/CD, and SRE practices
