Job Description Summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Head of Portfolio & Leasing Services to lead the delivery of leasing and portfolio management services across the Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) account.

In this critical leadership role, you will oversee a national team responsible for managing a complex, high-value property portfolio. You will act as a trusted advisor to key government stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Commonwealth property policies while delivering outstanding financial, operational, and compliance outcomes.

Australian citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Client Engagement

  • Lead the national leasing and portfolio strategy across the WoAG property portfolio
  • Partner with the Department of Finance, Strategic Property Adviser (SPA), and government entities
  • Represent Cushman & Wakefield in high-level governance forums and strategic discussions
  • Drive value-for-money outcomes aligned with Commonwealth Property Management Framework

Portfolio & Financial Management

  • Oversee lease administration, including expenditure and revenue rent rolls
  • Ensure accurate invoicing, reconciliations, and compliance with contractual obligations
  • Monitor budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through benchmarking and market analysis

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure delivery of leasing KPIs and service performance targets
  • Establish and maintain strong governance, risk, and compliance processes
  • Oversee data integrity, reporting, and portfolio analytics

People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, multi-region team
  • Drive engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Manage workforce planning, performance, and capability development

About You

You are an experienced property leader with a strong track record in managing large-scale portfolios and delivering results in complex environments.

Key requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in lease or property management with leadership responsibility
  • Proven experience managing large or complex property portfolios
  • Strong financial acumen, including rent rolls, reconciliations, and budgeting
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams

Highly regarded:

  • Experience working with government or regulated environments
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth leasing strategy and procurement frameworks
  • Power BI and advanced data/reporting capability
  • Understanding of AASB16 accounting standards

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Property, Business, or related discipline (preferred)
  • Real Estate Licence (required)
  • Ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance
