Global EHS Manager:

Job Description Summary

This role will be accountable for the scope of services related to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance under the contract across the company's global property portfolio and will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all compliance, regulatory requirements and relevant KPI’s are met or exceeded.

The role will need to liaise closely with key contractors, client representatives, IFM account teams and drive compliance with the compliance standards set by the client and the contract. In most locations, that will be to Australian or International Standards or better.

Job Description About the role:

  • An EHS first focus, ensuring compliance by all staff and contractors with Cushman & Wakefield’s EHS processes and procedures, adhering to a minimum of Australian Standards globally.
  • Develop and provide EHS advice to C&W account teams, taking into consideration relevant legislation, standards, contract scope and requirements.
  • Develop account compliance EHS documentation including EHS management plans, hazard and risk registers, risk assessments, EHS system procedures, account deliverables dashboards in consultation with relevant account representatives.
  • Develop and implement a permit to work system on client accounts and train staff in permit system use.
  • Plan and conduct integrated contract audits and implement ongoing compliance audits, inspections, and spot checks in line with account traffic light components.
  • Conduct and enter field leadership activities in accordance with mutually agreed activity types, frequency and nominal targets into the database.
  • Develop and facilitate EHS training for Facilities, Property and Project Managers and maintain up-to-date training needs analyses for the company's.
  • Provide advice and guidance to C&W account teams on contractor management and conduct regular desktop and contractor management systems audits.
  • Develop and implement EHS compliance desktop audits for all global satellite offices and report on findings to the client and C&W account team.
  • Manage C&W site requirements as EHS subject matter expert to ensure the company's staff EHS compliance and quality requirements.
  • Provide EHS assistance for the procurement of contractors on the client portfolio as part of tender development.
  • Actively participate in all internal and external audit activities and contribute towards continuous improvement.
  • Monitor EHS performance of contractors and manage relationships with internal clients and other stakeholders for purposes of EHS implementation.
  • Participate in onsite Emergency Management Committees and provide EHS advice to committee members as required.
  • Manage EHS incidents and conduct incident investigations including the generation of recommendations for implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

About you:

  • Undergraduate degree level or above EHS qualifications.
  • Preferably 10+ years’ experience in a Construction and/or Facilities Management related EHS role.
  • Qualified in recognised incident investigation techniques i.e., ICAM.
  • Sound Auditing Skills supported by formal training
  • Lead Auditor Certification preferred.
  • Operational knowledge of Workers Compensation and Return to Work protocols.
  • Proven leadership ability, administrative ability, technical background, and project responsibility experience required.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills for diverse audiences.
  • Professional, proactive, and collaborative approach to working.
  • Strong computer and systems knowledge.
