About the Role:

At Rocket Growth, our mission is – Rocket Growth strives to offer Coupang customers the best available selection and the lowest possible price and provide Coupang sellers the utmost convenience of selling.

We are seeking an experienced hands-on leader as a Senior Software Engineering Manager to join us to take the business to the next level. We are also looking for a tech leader with a proven track record of designing and building large-scale distributed systems preferably with a background in the E-commerce space. You will be a team leader who will lead the development for improving the Marketplace platform's scalability, reliability, availability, extensibility, and performance. As we continue to scale and innovate, you will be working in a fast-paced environment along with a team of smart and passionate global engineers to design and implement various systems to meet the needs of the Rocket Growth business.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience.

At least 2+ years of experience leading a software development team through multiple product / platform releases.

Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective software engineers

Experience building and operating distributed systems that are highly available.

Professional coding experience using modern programming language such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, C++, C#, etc.; strong object-oriented design and algorithmic analysis background.

Deep experience building high quality software with the Agile processes: Software.

Design, code reviews, QA process.

Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

A thought leader who has driven product ideas to successful releases

Passion for people management and mentorship to grow them.

Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team

Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between

Experience working backwards from the customer and delivering innovative, simple solutions
