Role Overview

We’re looking for a Tech Lead / Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of our next-generation Ad Infrastructure, with a focus on building a Supply-Side Platform (SSP) and Ad Exchange from the ground up.

In this role, you’ll serve as the hands-on architect and technical owner of the ad infrastructure and backend services that power our advertising business for our streaming service. You’ll lead system architecture, implementation, and technical strategy, while mentoring engineers and collaborating closely with cross-functional partners across Product, Business, and Ad Ops.

What You Will Do

  • Design and own the architecture and roadmap for our ad infrastructure, including SSP and Ad Exchange components.

  • Lead the development of scalable, low-latency auction systems and OpenRTB integrations.

  • Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team; establish best practices in code quality, system performance, and operational excellence.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals and compliance requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in backend or distributed systems engineering, including 3+ years as a Tech Lead driving complex, cross-team initiatives.

  • Proven experience building an SSP or Ad Exchange from architecture to production scale, including OpenRTB integrations with major DSPs.

  • Strong leadership in project planning, execution, code/design reviews, and mentoring senior engineers.

  • Deep expertise in low-latency, high-throughput systems, performance profiling, and cost/performance trade-offs.

  • Production experience with streaming and data systems.

  • Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Go), with a strong understanding of cloud-native architectures.

  • Strong knowledge of data infrastructure and storage systems.

  • Track record of technical leadership and mentoring senior engineers.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with advertising in video/CTV or OTT environments
