Job Summary

This role is responsible for planning, evaluating, and optimizing field development concepts for upstream offshore oil and gas assets. The role integrates subsurface, drilling, facilities, and economic considerations to deliver technically robust, safe, and commercially viable development solutions across the asset lifecycle—from concept selection through execution and operations.

This position demands strong technical judgment, cross disciplinary coordination, and experience working within safety critical offshore environments.

Position Overview Primary Functions/Responsibilities: Field Development Planning

  • Lead and contribute to field development planning activities, including concept selection, development optimization, and phased execution strategies.

  • Evaluate development options considering reservoir performance, well design, production profiles, facilities capacity, and export solutions.

  • Support sanction decisions through high‑quality technical input and development documentation.

Integrated Engineering & Collaboration

  • Work closely with subsurface, drilling, facilities, subsea, and operations teams to ensure integrated development plans.

  • Provide development engineering input to well planning, infrastructure design, and production optimization initiatives.

  • Interface with project engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) teams during execution phases.

Technical & Commercial Evaluation

  • Perform technical screening, risk assessments, and trade‑off studies to optimize cost, schedule, and production outcomes.

  • Contribute to CAPEX/OPEX estimates, development schedules, and economic evaluations (NPV, IRR, breakeven).

  • Ensure development plans are aligned with corporate strategy and asset value objectives.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years experience in offshore oil and gas across the different development phases

  • Prior experience in working on offshore facilities either in a project or production operations roles

  • Strong understanding of reservoir development principles and production systems.

  • Experience with development engineering workflows, including concept screening and integrated planning.

  • Familiarity with drilling, completions, subsea, facilities, and production operations interfaces.

  • Solid commercial awareness and ability to integrate economics into technical decision‑making.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Familiarity with decision quality frameworks.

  • Ability to balance technical rigor with pragmatic decision‑making.

  • Clear communication skills for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
