Vanity Fair is seeking a Director of Video Content to join our dynamic, fast-paced team to lead strategic growth and operational support across video production. Reporting to Vanity Fair’s Executive Director of Global Video, the Director of Video Content will play a critical role in shaping how Vanity Fair’s physical production will operate efficiently, maximizing all opportunities and creating a new bar for excellence. The Director of Content will oversee a team of senior, creative, and coordinating producers in New York and Los Angeles who create video content for Vanity Fair’s social and YouTube channels and on emerging platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:

Lead video production for Vanity Fair, ensuring all content meets brand standards, creative expectations, and performance goals

Manage and mentor a team of approximately 5 producers and partner closely with VF’s Senior Producer in LA to guide day-to-day production and execution

Collaborate with Programming and Development teams to shape video strategy, launch new series, and evolve existing formats

Oversee production logistics, including team assignments, shoot planning, and resource allocation

Generate new content ideas and formats optimized across social and YouTube

Lead hiring, resourcing, and talent development across staff and freelance teams, building a strong network of top-tier below-the-line crew and directors

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable, constructive feedback

Act as a key cross-functional partner to editorial, marketing, and audience development teams
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-
7+ years of experience in a fast-paced production environment
-
Minimum 3 years of directing and/or content leadership experience
-
Proven experience managing and developing staff and freelance teams
-
Track record of leading cross-functional teams and external partners
-
Strong understanding of production and post-production workflows
-
Experience managing high-volume content pipelines

Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality control
The expected base salary range for this position is from $135,000-$155,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
