Vogue immerses itself in fashion, always leading readers to what will happen next. Thought-provoking, relevant and always influential, Vogue defines the culture of fashion.

Job Description

Location:

New York, NY

Senior Fashion News Editor, Vogue

Overview:

Vogue is seeking a Senior Fashion News Editor with a sharp point of view, deep fashion intelligence, and an instinctive sense of what will matter next. This editor will help shape the daily fashion conversation at Vogue, guiding coverage that is timely, authoritative, and unmistakably Vogue.

The Senior Fashion News Editor will edit and elevate daily fashion stories from a team of writers while contributing original reporting, criticism, and analysis across Vogue Runway. This role is central to our Fashion Week coverage—reviewing collections during the main and pre-collection seasons—and to our ongoing reporting on designers, trends, and the forces shaping the industry now.

Equally comfortable editing breaking news, show reviews, and celebrity style stories as they are discovering emerging designers and cultivating industry relationships, the Senior Fashion News Editor brings editorial rigor and curiosity to all their responsibilities. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with Vogue’s fashion editors in New York and with contributors around the world, as well as with our social and newsletter teams to extend the reach of our reporting.

Beyond being deeply obsessed with fashion, the ideal candidate is an engaged reader with a broad awareness of culture, politics, and the world at large—and an understanding of how those forces intersect with style.

Responsibilities

  • Edit daily fashion coverage, shaping stories that are incisive, informed, and distinctly Vogue

  • Report and write daily for Vogue Runway, from breaking news and designer interviews to trend stories, criticism, and essays

  • Review collections during Fashion Week and pre-collection seasons

  • Identify and champion emerging designers and new ideas within the fashion landscape

  • Build and sustain relationships with designers, publicists, and key industry figures

  • Collaborate with social media and newsletter teams to thoughtfully amplify fashion coverage, particularly during Fashion Week

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience writing and editing fashion coverage, preferably at a magazine or digital publication

  • A proven editorial voice with exceptional writing, editing, and reporting skills

  • The ability to work quickly and decisively under deadline, without sacrificing quality or perspective

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, digital-first newsroom

  • Deep knowledge of emerging designers, established houses, and fashion’s leading voices

  • Confidence pitching ambitious ideas and contributing to Vogue’s broader editorial vision

  • A collaborative approach and ease working across teams, including social, photo, video, and analytics

The expected base salary range for this position is from $92,500 - $125,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
