Raytheon’s Advanced Programs is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Electronic Warfare (EW) to join our team. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design, development, and implementation of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. This position requires a background in systems engineering and experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) systems development and implementation processes.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary Systems Engineering focal point for the program
  • Manage configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Partner with the Program Chief Engineer in ensuring the engineering team aligns to cost/schedule
  • Provide technical directions to multi-disciplinary program teams
  • Implement and ensure adherence to systems engineering processes throughout the program lifecycle
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test plans
  • Coordinate system engineering activities, including requirements analysis, system design, integration, and testing
  • Conduct system-level trade studies and performance analysis
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer presentations
  • Support program management with technical risk assessments and mitigation strategies
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs architectural exploration
  • Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Physics) and 5+ years of relevant systems engineering experience
  • EW/Radar system development, including requirements decomposition, architecture definition, and system-level integration & verification planning
  • Experience developing systems engineering artifacts such as requirements, specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and verification/validation (V&V) plans
  • Experience supporting system-level technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and coordinating across multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Writing, managing, and tracing system and subsystem requirements for EW/Radar systems throughout the lifecycle
  • Defining system architectures, performance budgets, and interface definitions (RF, digital, and mixed‑signal)
  • Planning and overseeing development of Special Test Equipment (STE) and system‑level test infrastructure
  • Analyzing and modeling EW/Radar system performance, including RF chain, signal processing, and end‑to‑end behavior
  • Knowledge of millimeter wave and microwave RF at the module and system levels
  • Integrating mixed signal modules into higher level assemblies, including interface and configuration management
  • Experience developing or interpreting security and cybersecurity requirements relevant to government systems
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes, including Sys

ML and Cameo Enterprise Architecture:

  • Flight test or field test experience supporting system-level evaluation and data analysis

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
