Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work as part of a team that supports satellite communication (SATCOM) activities, in addition to company-wide systems engineering support. This position is a part of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. Availability for non-scheduled call-ins is required. The job assignment also requires working a rotating day/night shift schedule, assigned based on the adaptable needs of the team. Location: Guam (Home location VA)

What You Will Do

  • Operations and maintenance of complex software and hardware systems.
  • Report and document anomalous performance and interact with other team members to perform corrective actions.
  • Crosstrain in other assigned areas and assist with the training of other personnel on the contract team.
  • Support test and/or operational activities as necessary.
  • Work in elevated heights
  • Lift 50 lbs. safely

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in SATCOM, IT Systems and/or RF test equipment
  • Experience assigning tasks to meet technical objectives
  • Experience in problem solving in time-critical situations.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Troubleshooting methodologies for diagnosing system problems.
  • Experience training a wide range of learning techniques and styles.
  • Proficient use of Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
