What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a proactive and goal-oriented professional for a Finish End Process Manufacturing Engineer role in the Hot Section Module Center turbine blades business unit. This position would require that the candidate provides technical ownership of a variety of processes in a unionized aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for process development, sustainment, and continuous improvement while working in partnership with represented hourly employees, operations leadership, and other supporting organizations. Processes involved with this position include peen finishing, balance inspections, robotic deburr, and robot controlled flush systems. This is an exciting opportunity to learn many skills!
Finish End Manufacturing Engineer's responsibilities include:
- Develop, optimize, and sustain shot peen, robotic deburr, and robotic flush processes for turbine blade airfoil components.
- Own advanced inspection processes (blade measured length, moment weight, frequency mode analysis) to ensure world class quality blades are delivered to engine assembly.
- Provide on-floor technical support and troubleshooting in collaboration with operations.
- Create, maintain, and improve PFMEA and control plans for various processes.
- Lead process capability improvements, scrap reduction, and yield improvement initiatives.
- Author and maintain process work instructions for robust processing standards.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and process qualification activities.
- Partner with Quality Engineering to ensure compliance with AS9100, and internal standards
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs.
- Use statistical analysis tools to perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming product.
- Self-discipline to work collaboratively and independently, follow-through to fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations, and recommendations.
- Lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance.
- Participate in manufacturing process councils that drive systemic process improvements through baselining current process performance and developing continuous improvement actions to improve process standards.
- Drive manufacturing process technology development, including process modeling, through identification of opportunities to advancing MRL through to production implementation.
- Participate in manufacturing reviews, cold starts, new product introduction and manufacturing standard work improvements.
- Manage yield improvements and new geometry introduction, while working on Identify lead-time/cost reduction & waste elimination opportunities in the supply base.

Qualifications You Must Have
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering required w/ 2+ years’ experience.
- Preference: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science
- US Citizenship is required

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs
or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior
relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
