The following position is to join our Enterprise Services team:

Brief Description of Role/Department:

The Principal Specialist, Facilities Maintenance, Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting facilities electrical design, electrical infrastructure and power distribution systems, and construction project management.

What You Will do:

  • This position will be responsible for Facilities Maintenance Electrical Engineering oversight primarily supporting the Mc Kinney site.
  • Required to maintain core electrical infrastructure systems including outdoor substations, medium and low voltage power distribution systems and emergency and standby power systems, UPS, 400HZ power converters, fire alarm and fire protection systems, communication systems, grounding and lightning protection systems and other specialty systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance of the electrical medium voltage power distribution and infrastructure system with contractor partners.
  • Requires working knowledge of project load sizing, coordination studies, arch flash analysis and studies, Lightning protection maintenance and studies.
  • Maintain and update electrical panel schedules and electrical arch flash labeling.
  • Supports in-house electrical metering system and electrical troubleshooting of electrical infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and lead Facilities team and contractors in performance of electrical maintenance shutdown activities.
  • Supports Facilities Maintenance to maintain all RTX and Raytheon Corporate EHS&S Standards, Policy requirements and codes.
  • Reviews electrical design and construction to ensure compliance with all RTX, Raytheon, Federal, State, and local codes, regulations, and standards with regards to assigned electrical systems.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • This role typically requires a BS Electrical Engineering, (BSEE), BS Architectural Engineer, Power Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience in building electrical engineering or an advance degree and 2 years of experience
  • At least 2 years of experience with and strong understanding of Building Automation and controls, especially Schneider, Siemens, Delta, and JCI programs, and Computerized Maintenance Management organization and CMMS systems
  • At least 2 years of experience with and strong knowledge of Electrical Distribution Systems and Asset Protection Programs including Fire Systems and Fire alarm systems and the ability to oversee programs and work with team to accomplish compliance and continuous improvement goals
  • At least 2 years in building electrical engineering to include experience or knowledge of some or all the following:High, Medium and Low Voltage rated power distribution systems. Power Distribution Systems having multi-frequency ratings (e.g. 60 and 400 HZ.)
  • Load calculations and electrical distribution equipment Sizing.
  • Industrial controls and interlock systems.
  • Electrical power distribution system engineering analysis including load, voltage drop, fault current, motor starting, harmonic and equipment arc flash evaluation and safety labeling.
  • Overcurrent protective device Coordination Studies.
  • Interior and exterior lighting design and controls.
  • Familiarity with building electrical systems and general understanding of building construction and civil works.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Expert knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 90, 101, and 110 as well as national, state, local codes and regulations concerning facilities design/engineering, operations and maintenance activities.
  • Solid experience writing clear technical engineering specifications, reports and operating procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate with Top Leadership, Suppliers & Vendors, Contractors, and internal customers.
  • Proficiency in reading, printing/plotting, and creating CAD Drawings and construction documents.
  • Solid computer skills including proficiency with Auto Cad, REVIT, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project Scheduler**.**

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
