Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) has been a technology development and manufacturing leader of infrared systems for over 70 years, and it continues to be one of the industry stakeholders in the production of high-tech vision products for a variety of space, tactical and commercial applications. RVS is seeking an experienced Senior Program Quality Engineer to implement and develop quality engineering and customer quality flow-down requirements throughout proposal and program life cycle, supporting our factory located in Goleta, CA.
This is an onsite position in Goleta, CA.
What You Will Do:
- Create or tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements
- Implement Quality Engineering responsibilities as a member of a program integrated product team (IPT)
- Ensure programmatic and technical risks are identified, contained, and managed throughout each phase of business pursuit and program implementation
- Ensure Quality Engineering engagement in program development, design, test requirements and verification, including the transition of design to production
- Lead multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on 8D, Six Sigma, Lean practices and other critical thinking improvement methods and resources
- Manage the completion of Internal First Article Inspections (FAI’s)
- Guide business and program performance utilizing predictive and proactive measures and metrics
- Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross-functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
Qualification You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality, Engineering or Operations with working knowledge of business strategic planning, engineering development, material and service acquisition, production, test, product acceptance and post-delivery support.
- Working experience with Quality Management Systems such as: IS0 9001, AS9100.
- Working experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology, systems, and resources.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Working experience in Industry and Government Quality Requirements and Standards.
- Infrared industry, semiconductor processing or DoD industry experience.
- Past or present member or chair of Material and Failure non-conformance review boards (MRB/FRB).
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Certification.
- Experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS) and Cost Account Management (CAM) including Bases of Estimation (BOE).
- Experience with statistical and metrics software (e.g., Tableau, Minitab).
- Experience with factory systems and software (e.g., SAP, Windchill).
- Working experience in predictive and proactive measures, metrics assessments, and supporting actions to improve performance or mitigate problems.
- Experience leading, supporting, and mentoring others in routine settings and difficult situations.
- Experience collaborating with program team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
- Experience using written and verbal presentation skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Onsite: Employees who are working in onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
