Senior Director, Big Future Content Strategy
**College Board -**Big Future
Location: This is a remote role. Candidates who live near CB offices have the option of being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office). All CB employees are required to occasionally travel to meet in person for business purposes.

About the Team
Big Future solutions help every teenager own their future and discover postsecondary options that fit them best. The Big Future Community team supports students’ journey through resources, content and go-to-market efforts reaching teens, parents, and K-12 educators. Our authentic, trusted content for the Big Future.org product features career and college experts and guides teens and parents through a healthier approach to future planning. Our resources include Big Future Scholarships ($23+ million to over 24K teens since 2019), the College Board National Recognition Program (283K students recognized for academic achievement in 2025); Big Future Ambassadors (thousands of high school students who share free college and career resources); and Big Future Live (live events engaging thousands of parents yearly). The team coordinates cross-functional go-to-market efforts to reach K-12, students and families.
About the Opportunity
As Senior Director, Big Future Content Strategy, you will be responsible for the content ecosystem underlying the Big Future.org product, which engages over 19 million unique users a year. In partnership with the Big Future Product team, you’ll shape our content-as-product strategy to advance personalized exploration on Big Future.org. You’ll lead editorial strategy for student and parent content served throughout our product, now in the Community Library and eventually via AI-enabled conversation and alongside tools. You and your team will rapidly create high volume, information-rich, authentic video, articles, graphics and other content. You’ll oversee cross-functional go-to-market efforts to drive teens and their families to engage with Big Future.org content. You’ll set and maintain a high bar for content as a player-coach leading a team of four.
In this role, you will:
Strategic Editorial Leadership of Content for Product (20%)

Develop, refine, and socialize a comprehensive content strategy that advances and aligns with the Big Future product vision and roadmap for personalized exploration

Own, refine, and socialize an editorial roadmap for articles, videos and other Big Future.org product content, informed by student and parent needs, business goals and priorities, landscape trends, and best practices for postsecondary planning

Oversee research and define clear outcomes, key messages, and production approach for every piece of Big Future.org content to ensure consistency and quality

Define ambitious quantitative goals for content, track KPI’s, diagnose opportunities, gaps, and implications, implement pivots, and ensure robust tracking systems

Manage quantitative and qualitative user research and feedback systems to measure value and relevance of Big Future.org content

Strategically curate and serve content via a content management system to drive log-ins and other product engagement metrics
Production Systems and Quality of Content for Product (20%)
-
Prioritize and manage community team’s backlog of content concepts and editorial calendar to drive timely, consistent, high-quality, rapid content creation

Establish and refine robust processes and systems to plan, create and review high-quality content in two-week sprints
-
As the division’s owner of content quality, set staff expectations and screen all content for quality, accuracy and alignment with brand positioning, voice and style guidance

As player-coach, regularly implement all aspects of content production, including research, planning, interviewing and partnering with production teams while simultaneously managing the community content team

Manage vendor relationships and systems to ensure economical, efficient delivery of content
Cross-functional Leadership (10%)
-
Surface content-as-product needs to Product and Tech teams and consult throughout discovery, design and implementation processes

Surface go-to-market needs and effectively guide cross-functional efforts to grow audiences, expand reach and strengthen the Big Future brand

In partnership with Engagement and Reach Team, set direction and provide feedback to promote Big Future content across multiple channels
Lead and Manage the Content Team (50%)

Lead a team of four that is responsible for optimization of Big Future.org product content and continuous creation and refreshes of articles, videos and other assets

About You
Exceptional candidates can effectively speak to:

7+ years managing digital content strategy, systems, and creation in partnership with product teams (including 2+ as people manager)
-
A strategic and inclusive leadership style: you set clear priorities, make your thinking visible and digestible in strategy documents and planning tools, build effective team structures, anticipate future needs, and foster a culture of belonging.

A proven ability to drive performance and growth: you set high expectations, deliver real-time, evidence-based feedback, and coach team members to take smart risks, stretch their skills, and achieve meaningful impact.

Deep experience in defining content strategy and taxonomies, developing editorial roadmaps, and socializing strategy for feedback and alignment.

Masterful approaches to multimedia content creation, including video, articles and graphics to inform and inspire, and proven ability to define and simplify standards, norms and processes.

Experience-driven intuition to engage Gen Z/Gen Alpha and their parents in future planning and align informational content to research and best practices for college and career planning.

Strong quantitative orientation to routinely diagnose, synthesize findings and implications, and align clear plans to evidence with ability to track KPI’s with Adobe Analytics, Tableau and other tools.

Strong organizational and project management skills with experience managing team workflows via Monday.com or similar tools.

Deep experience leveraging Drupal or similar content management systems and Adobe Express or similar video editing software.

The ability to travel once a month to College Board offices or conferences or on behalf of other College Board business.

The hiring range for this role is $100,000–$160,000.
