Role Overview:
The Director, Strategic Initiatives & New Technologies will drive operating unit–level strategic initiatives across the Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability (PACS) function, ensuring integration of sustainability priorities with public policy and strategic communications to deliver business growth, strengthen corporate reputation, and achieve long-term strategic objectives.
Acting as a catalyst for collaboration, the Director will work closely with the Sustainability, Public Policy, and Communications teams, as well as with Marketing, Finance, Technical, Commercial, and bottling partners, to align plans, resources, and messaging. This role positions PACS as a proactive business enabler, leveraging synergies across disciplines for maximum impact.
Key Responsibilities Lead PACS Strategic Planning:
Drive development and execution of the Annual Business Plan (ABP) and Long-Range Plan (LRP), ensuring full integration of sustainability, policy, and communications priorities.
Facilitate Cross-Functional Alignment:
Partner with PACS vertical leads and cross-functional teams to translate shared objectives and initiatives into actionable, coordinated plans across the OU and system.
Define & Track PACS-wide OKRs/KPIs:
Establish measurable goals in partnership with functional leaders; monitor progress and adjust strategies to deliver agreed outcomes.
Integrate Policy & Sustainability Goals:
Work with Public Policy and Sustainability teams to align on strategic investments (Focus on sustainability financials modeling – working closely with Operating Unit Sustainability Lead)
Coordinate Messaging Across Functions:
Collaborate with Strategic Communications to unify narratives that connect sustainability, policy outcomes, and corporate reputation.
Engage System Stakeholders:
Align initiatives with bottling partners, industry groups, NGOs, and community stakeholders to amplify collective impact and shared responsibility.
Support Social Impact Programs:
Partner with relevant PACS verticals to ensure philanthropic investments and programming reflect integrated strategic priorities.
Apply Data-Driven Insights:
Leverage analytics and trend monitoring to inform PACS strategies and ensure evidence-based decision-making.
Monitor External Trends & Innovations:
Identify developments that offer PACS-wide opportunities, incorporating them into strategy and advocacy efforts.
Provide Executive Strategy Support:
Prepare insights, materials, and recommendations for the VP, PACS and Operating Unit Leadership Team that reflect integrated progress across verticals.
Optimize Resources & Execution:
Ensure cross-functional initiatives make optimal use of budgets, talent, and partnerships, balancing vertical needs with shared PACS objectives.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

Deep experience in driving integrated strategies across sustainability, public affairs, public policy, and corporate communications

Strong strategic planning and performance management capabilities

Solid financial acumen, with the ability to develop and assess business cases and financial models, particularly related to sustainability investments

Exceptional stakeholder management skills, influencing across functions and engaging external partners such as bottling partners, NGOs, industry associations, and public institutions

Ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling executive‑level narratives and recommendations

High learning agility, comfort with ambiguity, and a proactive approach to identifying emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities

Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive alignment and impact without direct authority
