Job Description Summary: SENIOR DIRECTOR, TECHNICAL OPERATIONS – PAKISTAN & AFGHANISTAN REGIONFocus, Scope & Impact
This role covers Pakistan & Afghanistan Franchise operations and is accountable for key business indicators including volume, revenue, operating income, supply reliability, cost, quality, and sustainability performance. The role operates in a large, complex, and strategically important market with regional bottling partners, significant capacity footprint, and high growth as well as affordability dynamics.
The incumbent works closely with the Franchise Leader of Pakistan & Afghanistan, Region Leadership Team, bottling partners, and regional/global Technical & Supply Chain stakeholders.
The primary focus of the role is to lead end-to-end Technical, Innovation, and Supply Chain (TI&SC) operations for the region, ensuring alignment with global standards while tailoring execution to local market realities.
- Provide end-to-end technical leadership and execution support across all TI&SC functional areas for Pakistan operations, in close partnership with Franchise teams and bottling partners.
- Be accountable for business continuity, resilience, and risk management strategies, adapting global frameworks to the Pakistan operating environment.
- Partner with bottlers, concentrate plant, franchise leadership to ensure demand is met with the appropriate production capacity, network design, and supply flexibility.
- Drive strong governance of ingredients & primary packaging suppliers and continue to build their capability and capacity in line with regional plans
- Ensure strong governance and prioritization of capital investment (CAPEX), supply chain initiatives, and productivity programs aligned with region’s business needs.
- Lead and deploy technical franchise initiatives that set ambitious performance targets for bottling operations while ensuring disciplined execution.
- Monitor, analyze, and improve key performance metrics related to cost, efficiency, quality, food safety, sustainability, and system capacity.
- Drive the implementation and compliance of global standards and programs including Coca-Cola Requirements, food safety, QSE, sustainability, and innovation across Pakistan.
- Together with region Supply Chain lead, drive end‑to‑end supply chain improvement initiatives through digital enablement, and cross‑system collaboration.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for Pakistan & Afghanistan with Eurasia & Middle East operating unit and global Technical Operations teams, contributing to broader technical agenda and capability building.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, coach, and develop the regional teams; set clear objectives and foster a strong performance-driven and safety-first culture.
- Build strong technical partnerships with bottling partners, concentrate plant, suppliers and enable effective best practice sharing across plants and the broader system.
- Ensure top-quartile performance across all technical functions including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and innovation delivery.
- Oversee planning and execution of major capital projects, line expansions, capability upgrades, and productivity initiatives in line with long-term business strategy.
- Maintain robust technical governance, ensuring full compliance with Company policies, Coca-Cola requirements, local regulatory standards, and international best practices.
- Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and digital/technical capability upgrades across suppliers, manufacturing and supply chain.
- Provide technical leadership, insight, and risk-based recommendations to support country business decisions, scenario planning, and issue resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- University degree (preferably in engineering, technical, or supply chain fields).
- 15 years of relevant experience in technical operations, supply chain, and/or quality management, preferably in the beverage or FMCG industry.
- Prior experience in multinational environments and managing technical teams across multiple countries.
- Advanced knowledge of technical and supply chain standards, quality assurance systems, and risk management.
- Demonstrated leadership, change management, and communication skills.
- Fluent English required; additional fluency in local language (e.g. Urdu) is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to work across different markets and cultures.
