As Lead Pharmacy Technician, you will delegate and direct your team of fellow caregivers, ensuring the proper execution and delivery of pharmacy services, including work shift responsibilities and assignments, quality control monitoring, various project-oriented tasks, and training and orientation activities. This position is pivotal to the overall functioning of our Pharmacies, allowing you to help facilitate effective, accurate and streamlined care for patients across the hospital. All the while, you will gain extensive hands-on experience and the opportunity to explore advanced positions, education and individual development resources.
A caregiver in this position works variable hours from 6: 30am to 3:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Interact with and review work of caregivers, providing feedback to ensure maximized output and efficiency.

Create and present quality control reports to management regarding team performance and throughput.

Ensure caregivers are adequately trained and oriented to the work area.

Provide onside re-training.

Serve as a technical resource.

Work in staff capacity and possess the ability to perform all technician functions.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma
Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:

Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR the National Health Career Association (NHA)

AND it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee. If certified but current status with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) is Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee it is required to update registration status to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire.

Two years of experience as a pharmacy technician

Ability to educate and train others, including how to plan and direct their efforts
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program
Physical Requirements:
- Typical physician demands include the ability to perform functions of the job while standing, reaching, stretching, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of the job.
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs. while walking, stooping, bending and reaching; ability to transport up to 250 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
