The caregivers at Euclid Hospital have made it not only an excellent medical facility, but also a home away from home.  Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient.   A caregiver in this position works days/on-call requirements, from 8:30am—5:00pm or 7:00am—3:30pm.    A caregiver who excels in this role will:   - Perform radiology exams and fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages.   - Perform ED/surgical procedures (trauma cases, fluoroscopic exams to include vascular, general medicine, ortho, cardiac, GI, GU, neuro, pediatrics, and general procedures) in a sterile environment.  - Produce images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.  - Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and families on procedures as needed.  - Assist in scheduling patients.   - Monitor and determine priority of patients.  - Ensure patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam.  - Demonstrate the care and operation of radiography equipment according to technical specifications and applications.  - Assist Radiologists, physicians and surgeons with procedures.  - Maintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately.  - Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and radiology students.  - Continually strive to learn new technical information and skills through attending periodic in-service programs and participating in professional affiliation sessions.  - Rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities and locations as needed.     Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   - Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology  - Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing  - Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment   - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification   - Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes  - Can communicate well with Radiologists and physicians to coordinate proper imaging of patients  - Strong communication skills are essential to provide excellent care to patients and families  - Can function well in minimal or no direct supervision    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   - One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist     Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
