This community-based hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Cuyahoga County on the beautiful coast of Lake Erie. The caregivers at Euclid Hospital have made it not only an excellent medical facility, but also a home away from home.  Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient.   A caregiver in this position works days/on-call requirements, from 8:30am—5:00pm or 7:00am—3:30pm.    A caregiver who excels in this role will:   - Perform radiology exams and fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages.   - Perform ED/surgical procedures (trauma cases, fluoroscopic exams to include vascular, general medicine, ortho, cardiac, GI, GU, neuro, pediatrics, and general procedures) in a sterile environment.  - Produce images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.  - Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and families on procedures as needed.  - Assist in scheduling patients.   - Monitor and determine priority of patients.  - Ensure patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam.  - Demonstrate the care and operation of radiography equipment according to technical specifications and applications.  - Assist Radiologists, physicians and surgeons with procedures.  - Maintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately.  - Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and radiology students.  - Continually strive to learn new technical information and skills through attending periodic in-service programs and participating in professional affiliation sessions.  - Rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities and locations as needed.     Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   - Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology  - Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing  - Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment   - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification   - Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes  - Can communicate well with Radiologists and physicians to coordinate proper imaging of patients  - Strong communication skills are essential to provide excellent care to patients and families  - Can function well in minimal or no direct supervision    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   - One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist     Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
