We are a small unit but have all the benefits of the Cleveland Clinic. There are a multitude of learning opportunities both onsite and off throughout the year. This LPN role would require the candidate to be trained in 3 different roles within the department-Pre/post op, GI tech role assisting MD during procedures and scope reprocessing.
A caregiver in this role will work shifts between 7: 00am and 5:30pm, with one late shift per week extending past 5:30pm based on sign-up scheduling. This role also includes one Saturday shift approximately every six weeks from 7:00am to 1:00pm. Caregivers participate in an on-call rotation from Friday at 6:00pm through Monday at 6:00am, with approximately 6–7 on-call assignments per year based on self-sign-up.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Collect, document and report patient data and observations.

Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.

Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.

Perform routine laboratory tests.

Educate patients and family members.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program

Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- One year of patient care experience
- Prior experience in a hospital setting or ambulatory experience/background
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
- Involves extensive standing and walking.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Medium Work
- Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
