A caregiver in this position works days from 6: 30AM – 3:00PM or 7:00AM – 3:30PM, with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
-
Regularly inspect, diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems.
-
Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration/air conditioning systems and other equipment, such as refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, medical and process chillers, cooling equipment, cryogenic freezers and rooftop heating/cooling units.
-
Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic controls, solid state microprocessors and system alarms.

Repair refrigerant leaks and evacuate and adjust refrigerant charges.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
State of Ohio EPA approved certificate for either Type I AND Type II OR Universal Refrigerant Systems Service
-
Three years of experience as a commercial/residential air conditioning refrigeration technician. Military experience as a Machinists Mate, Utilities man, Utilities Equipment Repairer or a similar role will be considered
-
Formal vocational classroom study in refrigeration, air conditioning and/or air handling may substitute up to one year of experience
-
Ability to read electric schematic diagrams
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Completion of a formal HVAC/Refrigeration training program

Work experience in a hospital setting
