The Endoscopy department offers upper gastrointestinal endoscopy for esophageal, stomach and duodenal disorders, wireless capsule endoscopy and balloon-assisted enteroscopy for intestinal disorders, colonoscopy for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for colonic disease, and ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound for pancreatic and biliary disorders. This is a highly experienced team of caregivers that collaborate on various endoscopy procedures to achieve excellent medical outcomes for patients.

A caregiver in this position works days and on-call from 7: 00am to 5:30pm. One late night per week will be held past 5:30 pm. On-call on Friday will be start at 6:00pm, Friday through the weekend and then on Monday from 6:00am 6-7 times per year. Saturdays will be from 7:00am to 1:00pm once every 6 weeks and then on-call on Friday from 6:00pm through the weekend and on to Monday at 6:00am roughly 6-7 times per year. This role will be held at Crile and Q Building at Main Campus.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Collect, document and report patient data and observations.

• Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.

• Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.

• Perform routine laboratory tests.

• Educate patients and family members.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program

• Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of patient care experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
• Involves extensive standing and walking.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Medium Work
• Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
