Citi's Middle East and Africa (MEA) Investment Banking team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate or Junior Vice President to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This role will be instrumental in executing a wide range of investment banking transactions and supporting new business development across Saudi Arabia and the broader GCC region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in investment banking, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities, exceptional client management skills, and a deep understanding of financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Associate or Junior VP, you will play a critical role in all phases of project and transaction execution, including but not limited to:
- Transaction Execution: Assume significant responsibility for the day-to-day execution of M&A, equity capital markets (ECM), and debt capital markets (DCM) transactions, working closely with clients, senior bankers, and external advisors.
- Financial Analysis & Modeling: Lead the development of complex financial models, valuation analyses (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable companies), and other quantitative analyses to support transaction mandates.
- Client Management: Act as a key point of contact for clients, guiding them through various stages of transactions, including due diligence, drafting sessions, and investor presentations.
- Presentation & Documentation: Oversee and contribute to the preparation of high-quality pitch materials, information memoranda, fairness opinions, and investor presentations.
- New Business Development Support: Assist senior bankers in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including market research, industry analysis, and client outreach.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior analysts and associates, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Market Insight: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of regional market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape within Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 4-6 years of progressive experience in Investment Banking, preferably within a bulge bracket or leading regional investment bank. Candidates with relevant experience in corporate finance, private equity, or a closely related field might also be considered on a selective basis.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related quantitative field from a top-tier institution is required. An MBA or Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and corporate finance concepts. Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Market Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of the Saudi Arabian and broader GCC financial markets and regulatory environments.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
- Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment, with strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Regulatory: Relevant financial industry certifications (e.g., Series 79, 63) are preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Cultural Acumen: Ability to navigate and thrive in diverse cultural environments.
- Language: Proficiency in English is required. Arabic is a strong plus
