Role / Position Overview

This role is within Stock Lending Middle Office under Prime Finance. This is a great opportunity to join a high performing team, who directly interacts with over 60 global clients and support our trading desks across 3 key regions (Europe, Asia Pac and the United States).

This is a high-profile role with exposure to large volumes of trades and high-value items in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The successful candidate will be responsible to provide Operational support to the Prime Finance Trading Desks across Stock Lending and Funding products, Internal Stakeholders and External Counterparties, identifying and resolving complex issues, process changes and provide assistance to multiple areas both within the firm and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Single point of contact for external counterparties on a daily basis, running daily exposure reports and providing cash, non-cash (equities & bonds) or Triparty collateral cover.
  • Coordinate various support groups and monitor settlements closely to ensure timely settlement of high-profile trades
  • Prioritise and manage Costly and Aged fails between groups and entities
  • Handle recalls, bookings, trade amendments, projections and ensuring shortfalls are covered
  • Manage funding requirements with Triparty agents and bilateral counterparties
  • Regular communication with external counterparties, Trading Desks and other operation teams, covering all stock lending and funding issues.
  • Review cash / portfolio / collateral reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as appropriate.
  • Enhance our client experience by identifying process improvements to increase the automation of daily processes and deliver sustainable performance.
  • Perform daily reconciliation via Pirum / Equilend to prevent exposure and billing differences.
  • Complete end of day checks against daily exposure reports in line with our audit requirements.
  • Monitor collateral & substitutions prior to any corporate action record dates to ensure no financial loss to Citi
  • Publication of MIS where required

Criteria/Qualifications Education:

  • Degree level or equivalent

Skills / Competencies:

  • Previous relevant experience in Middle Office and APAC market knowledge essential, preferably within Stock Lending/ Collateral Management / Prime Finance
  • Computer literate with the ability to grasp several in house systems quickly
  • Numerate and analytical with impeccable attention to detail
  • Proactive, self-motivated and a strong desire to learn and succeed
  • Able to adapt quickly, manage different deadlines and priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate and detail issues, both in writing and verbally, in an accurate and concise manner
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and professionalism in decision making and problem solving, escalating to Management as appropriate
  • Able to work in a team environment across various groups and can build and maintain working relationships
