Chief Financial Officer
Reporting directly to Citi's Chief Financial Officer, this is a career-defining opportunity to serve as the strategic financial architect for Citi’s global Wealth division. We are seeking a visionary leader to co-pilot the business, transcending traditional finance to shape long-term strategy, drive transformational change, and unlock new vectors of growth.
As the CFO of Wealth, you will be a key member of the executive management team, acting as a trusted advisor to the business head. You will be empowered to influence the strategic direction of the entire Wealth franchise, from ultra-high-net-worth and family offices to the affluent client segment. This role is about more than financial oversight; it is about providing the foresight, competitive intelligence, and financial acumen to solidify Citi’s position as the leader in wealth management.
Core Mandates1.
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership:
- Serve as the lead financial architect and strategic co-pilot to the Head of Wealth, shaping long-term business strategy and translating it into actionable financial plans that drive exceptional performance.
- Deliver data-driven, forward-looking market and competitive intelligence to identify emerging opportunities, mitigate risks, and ensure Citi Wealth maintains a dominant market position.
- Act as the primary financial counsel to senior leadership on pivotal decisions, including market entry, product innovation, capital allocation, and strategic investments.
- Represent the financial integrity and strategic vision of the Wealth business in negotiations and presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite executives and regulators.

Transformation & Innovation:
- Champion a culture of innovation by supporting the modernization of the finance function. Drive the adoption of AI, automation, and advanced analytics to unlock predictive insights, enhance efficiency, and create a world-class, digitally-enabled finance organization.
- Lead large-scale change initiatives, partnering with Technology and other Finance disciplines to re-engineer financial processes for greater agility, scalability, and insight.
- Challenge the status quo and drive a forward-thinking agenda that anticipates the future of finance and its role in wealth management.

- Orchestrate a sophisticated capital allocation and expense management strategy, balancing aggressive investment in growth initiatives with rigorous financial discipline to maximize profitability and shareholder return.
- Lead the financial narrative for the Wealth business, overseeing forecasting, planning, and insightful analytics that illuminate performance drivers and guide strategic adjustments.
- Uphold and enhance a robust control environment, ensuring the firm's reputation is safeguarded by embedding risk assessment and compliance into the core of all business decisions.

- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing global team of senior finance professionals, setting a clear and ambitious strategic direction.
- Cultivate a world-class finance organization by attracting, retaining, and mentoring top talent, building a pipeline of future leaders for the firm.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence, empowering the team to navigate complex challenges and achieve ambitious goals.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a significant portion within a large-scale Wealth Management or Private Banking institution.
- Minimum 5 years of proven CFO or equivalent experience, serving as a strategic partner to executive-level business leaders.
- A visionary leader with a proven ability to anticipate market shifts, analyze competitive landscapes, and position a business for future growth.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale digital transformation and change management within a complex financial services environment.
- Deep expertise in financial stewardship, including strategic planning, capital allocation, advanced analytics, and risk management.
- Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among a diverse range of senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and develop large, global teams of high-caliber professionals.
- Master's degree or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
