Background & Job Description Summary

Citi's Wealth Business caters to a diverse clientele across the entire wealth spectrum, offering comprehensive products and services. These include Banking, Mortgages, Investment Finance, Capital Markets, Managed Investments, Custody, Trust, and Estate Planning. Our clients range from Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and Families, Family Offices, Professional Firms/Associates/Partners, to Registered Investment Advisors, Hedge Funds, and Private Equity firms.

Within Citi's Wealth Business, the Global Balance Sheet Management team is dedicated to optimizing capital, liquidity and transfer pricing. The team drives balance sheet optimization initiatives, conducts critical analysis, and provides strategic guidance on capital, liquidity, and balance sheet utilization for the business.

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically strong individual to join Citi’s Global Balance Sheet Management team and spearhead our efforts to drive liquidity optimization for Wealth products. This position demands excellent communication skills for guiding, influencing, and persuading senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate is an experienced, energetic professional with strong, proven data analytical skills, a deep understanding of data flows between systems, and effective project management abilities. They must be capable of partnering with Treasury, Risk, Operations, Service teams, business units, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely execution of liquidity optimization initiatives. This role requires a self-starter who can effectively work and lead in a team environment, often under significant time constraints. A robust background in Treasury, along with knowledge and experience in liquidity and transfer pricing topics, are essential prerequisites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the liquidity characteristics of Wealth deposits and loan products, serving as a SME to drive product efficiency and optimization
  • Collaborate with Treasury teams to optimize funding structures specifically for the Wealth business
  • Provide comprehensive liquidity expertise across various Wealth exposure and product types
  • Deliver regular and ad-hoc liquidity analytics (reports, presentations, and tools) to support senior Wealth management in tactical and strategic decision-making
  • Partner with Treasury, Risk, Operations, Service Teams, business units, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective execution of liquidity initiatives
  • Conduct thorough reviews and reconciliations of liquidity transfer pricing and other Treasury data
  • Drive innovation by participating in and leading development or change projects related to liquidity initiatives and regulatory compliance
  • Cultivate strong, productive relationships with internal partners, including Sales, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Operations
  • Ensure full adherence to all legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements pertaining to liquidity, including ongoing consent order execution and responding to ad-hoc regulatory requests

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Proficient understanding of Funds Transfer Pricing and liquidity metrics, including their measurement at the product and business levels
  • Demonstrated experience in liquidity management
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Proven capacity to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong initiative and a proactive, interactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to display flexibility and independence in a demanding work environment
  • Comfortable setting strategic agendas and building consensus to facilitate execution
