We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Securities & Derivatives Senior Analyst to join our dynamic Citi Wealth Investment Operations team. This role is critical in supporting our Trading Desk and branch offices by ensuring the seamless processing of investment orders and transactions.
Role Overview: The Citi Wealth Investment Operations Securities & Derivatives Senior Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end processing of orders and transactions originating from various trading desks and branch offices. This role works in close coordination with various operational teams to ensure efficient and accurate execution. The overall objective is to facilitate the timely clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions, thereby minimizing risk and optimizing client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Trade Processing and Execution:
Accurately capture and process a wide range of capital markets orders and transactions on a T-0 basis.
Perform enrichment and amendment of orders as required to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Coordinate with trading desks, branch offices, and various investment operational teams to resolve trade discrepancies and ensure smooth transaction flow.
Clearance and Settlement Facilitation:
Act as a primary point of contact for inquiries related to the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives.
Proactively identify and resolve potential issues that could impact timely settlement.
Monitor transaction statuses and escalate complex issues to appropriate stakeholders.
Instrument Scope Management:
Provide expert support and processing capabilities across a diverse range of financial instruments, including:
Equities: Processing of common stocks, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), Warrants, Rights, and American/Global Depositary Receipts (ADR/GDR).
Debt Instruments: Handling of various fixed-income products.
Structured Products: Processing of complex structured investment vehicles.
Options: Managing equity and other options contracts.
Physical Certificates: Overseeing transactions involving physical security certificates.
Operational Excellence:
Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and controls.
Ensure strict adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Participate in testing and implementation of new systems or process enhancements.
Subject Matter Expertise:
Serve as a go-to expert for complex operational queries and problem resolution within the wealth investment operations domain.
Provide guidance and training to junior team members and cross-functional teams as needed.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with transaction processing.
Ensure all activities are performed with a strong focus on risk awareness and control.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of various capital market products (Equities, Derivatives, Fixed Income, FX, etc.) and their operational lifecycles.
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes, including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
