Responsibilities

Strategic Contribution to Trading Profit & Loss Drivers:

  • Drive strategic analysis and interpretation of trading revenues, financing expenses, and key business metrics to identify and pursue opportunities for revenue enhancement and optimize profitability.
  • Contribute to crafting and executing comprehensive growth plans in conjunction with senior sales and trading leadership.

Driving Innovation and Direct Development of Trading Platform:

  • Collaborate with the team to lead the strategic evolution, enhancement, and end-to-end product lifecycle of Synthetic Prime Finance products and infrastructure.
  • Initiate and prioritize strategic platform enhancements to open new trading opportunities, improve efficiency, and address emerging client demand, thereby enhancing profitability and strengthening risk frameworks.
  • Translate strategic vision into actionable business requirements (BRDs) and project plans, leading global initiatives with a focus on client needs and market trends.
  • Foster cross-functional synergy with sales, business managers, and technology teams to align product strategy and integrate innovative solutions.
  • Manage the product book of work, ensuring efficient delivery, resource allocation, and strategic prioritization.
  • Champion client-centric innovation by gathering feedback, communicating development plans, and acting as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor to stakeholders (legal, compliance, risk, etc.).

Regulatory and Industry Thought Leadership:

  • Provide expert thought leadership on complex regulatory and industry changes, proactively shaping business strategy and acting as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders on strategic implications.

Expert Risk and Control Design and Implementation:

  • Establish and champion a culture of robust risk and control, ensuring uncompromising regulatory perfection and operational control across the platform.
  • Provide expert oversight and guidance to operations and technology partners, analyze and control systemic business risk, and drive policy decisions with in-business Risk and credit teams.
  • Appropriately assess and manage risk in all business decisions, safeguarding the firm's reputation, ensuring compliance with laws and policies, and applying sound ethical judgment. Effectively supervise activity, create accountability, and escalate/report control issues transparently.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Extensive experience in prime brokerage or futures and clearing, with a deep understanding of synthetic products such as portfolio swaps, hedge fund strategies across asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives), and market structure..
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong intellectual curiosity, advanced analytical, and conceptual thinking. Proven ability to independently leverage analytical tools and complex data to develop strategic insights, forecast market trends, and drive critical business decisions.
  • Profit & Loss and Financial Acumen: Extensive experience in directly optimizing business Profit & Loss and financial resource metrics, with a deep focus on optimizing trading-related metrics. Comprehensive understanding of capital requirements, regulatory capital, and advanced financial accounting principles, applied through direct contribution.
  • Established Client Relationships: Established and influential client relationships, with a history of independently developing and executing solutions for complex client needs. Expert knowledge of client trading strategies, market dynamics, and key areas of focus for high-value clients.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Demonstrated ability to influence and drive strategic partnerships across the trading floor, including with trading desks, Quantitative analysts, and Risk functions, leveraging deep subject matter expertise to develop and implement product capabilities that deliver significant business growth, optimize risk, and enhance overall platform performance.
  • Program and Initiative Expertise: Extensive experience in strategically planning, directly driving, and expertly delivering large-scale, complex programs and initiatives in conjunction with technology and operations, demonstrating strong program management and execution skills through individual contribution.
  • Regulatory & Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of current and emerging regulatory and industry requirements associated with financing and clearing product sets. Ability to anticipate future regulatory impacts and strategically position the business accordingly through expert analysis and recommendation.
  • Risk Management: Proven expertise in comprehensively assessing, mitigating, and controlling operational, market, and credit risk across complex financial products and systems through direct involvement and analysis.
  • Communication & Influence: Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, and articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree preferred
