We are looking for hands-on full-stack engineering team leads who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. The team lead plays a meaningful role in crafting and maintaining the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery within the construct of an Agile team. The role is to lead and own an Agile team’s efforts to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient systems and solutions in support of our core organizational functions. In addition to managing members of an agile team, there is also an expectation to contribute to the codebase and deliver solutions against the sprint-level commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Code contributing leader of an Agile team, working to deliver sprint goals, as well as conduct personnel duties for team (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring, promotions and disciplinary actions).

  • Design, document, and develop world-class enterprise applications leveraging the latest technologies and design patterns.

  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over team resources, budget management and planning, while monitoring end results.

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within your own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues.

  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards.

  • Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals.

  • Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources.

  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties, as necessary.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience with building apps with frameworks like Spring Boot, Java, Angular/React

  • Exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, either on-premise or public cloud (i.e., Tekton, Harness, CircleCI, Cloudbees Jenkins, etc.)

  • 6+ years of experience architecting and building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, and low latency applications

  • 6+ years of experience with Cloud-native development and Container Orchestration tools (Serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift, etc.).

  • 6+ years of experience on Service Oriented and Micro Services architectures

  • 6+ years of experience with agile and iterative software delivery

  • Experience mentoring and providing technical leadership for teams of developers working on variety of tech stack across the full stack of development.

  • Experience in building high-quality and optimal systems and an understanding of design principles for enterprise application development.

  • Multiple years of experience with software engineering best practices (unit testing, automation, design patterns, peer review, etc.)

  • Clear understanding of Data Structures and Object Oriented Principles using Java

  • Clear understanding of contracts between UI, service, reporting layers and contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Cloud infrastructure both on-premise and public cloud (i.e., Open Shift, AWS, etc.)

  • Exposure to AI tools such as Co-pilot, Devin, Claude Code or similar and ability to drive fast paced development with the use of AI tools.

  • Exposure to event-driven design and architecture (i.e., Kafka, Spark, etc.)

  • Exposure to API Management tools

  • Exposure to Security, Observability, and Monitoring tools

  • Exposure to database concepts (RDBMS, NoSQL) and web-based technologies (Angular/React) is a plus
