This position is within the US Consumer Cards Recovery Risk team. As part of this team, the successful candidate will be responsible for helping manage Recovery and late stage Collections Strategy, Operations Oversight, and daily interaction with the Recovery policy and operations teams. The role is accountable for supporting cooperative deployment of strategies designed to meet portfolio Risk Appetite goals and the execution of routines to monitor a full spectrum of processes. The individual will work closely with the Recovery Operations team, Recovery Policy team and Cards Risk Management leaders to ensure alignment between strategy and operations areas.
Responsibilities:
o Manage a team of analysts and senior analysts located throughout the US and India.
o Optimizing existing late stage recovery strategies pertaining to legal treatments, asset sales, external agencies, and internal recovery unit.
o Working across Internal Recovery and Agency risk peer groups to optimize full end-to-end recovery life cycle of accounts from both a lifetime liquidation and Net Present Value perspective.
o Representing Risk Management on inter-departmental Process Teams.
o Participating in creating system requirements for new recovery strategies and represent Risk Management throughout the development life cycle of a new strategy or policy.
o Making recommendations and communicating the results to senior management.
o Evaluating effectiveness of current recovery policies and strategies.
o Making significant contributions in the development of analytical tools used in the assessment of Recovery risk and policy.
o Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
o Minimum 10 years of related analytic experience in a collections or recovery environment
o Minimum 5 years of experience in statistical analysis with working knowledge of at least one of the following statistical software packages: SAS, SQL, Python, S or some equivalent or R/ R Studio
o Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency
o Strong project management ability
o Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
o Minimum 5 yrs people management experience
**Education:**
- Bachelors level degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree preferred
