Application Support Intermediate Analyst (Java)
The Apps Support Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.
Responsibilities :
- Engage in the Build and support activities for Run Book Automation (RBA) as the orchestration tool among all SMBF Applications.
- Help in onboarding applications for adoption based on their criticality.
- Coordinate adoption of RBA by SMBF Applications for One-Touch Resiliency, removing obstacles and finding ways to expedite such adoption.
- Provide regular updates to management including accomplishments, challenges, risks and dependencies.
- Collaborate with respective technology teams to get API's from them for inclusion within RBA for smooth automation of various infrastructure activities.
- Utilize Agile methodology and tools (JIRA, Confluence) for new onboardings, developments of new features, enhancements, effective backlog refining, stakeholder reporting, and knowledge management, promoting transparency and efficient workflow.
- Participate in review meetings, relating technology tools strategies to business requirements.
- Assure adherence to all support process and tool standards and work with Management to create new and/or enhance processes to ensure consistency and quality in “best practices” across the overall support program.
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets.
Qualifications
- Considerable IT Industry Experience:
Proven total of 4-6 years of IT experience. Strong hands‑on programming experience with Java, Python, Angular and Spring Boot.
- Database Knowledge:
Good understanding of both relational and non‑relational databases, specifically in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
- UNIX / Operating System Skills:
Strong working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments, including System navigation, process management, and filesystem administration, Shell scripting (bash, ksh, sh) for automation and operational tasks would be preferred.
- Automation & Application Engineering:
Experience developing web applications, implementing automation solutions, enhancing application performance, ensuring system responsiveness, and partnering cross‑functionally across software development, QA, and infrastructure teams.
- Production Management & Core Services Support:
Some experience in a production support or core services operational role, handling incident resolution, root‑cause analysis, environment stability, release support, and continuous service improvements.
- Project & Service Management:
Track record of driving technology and service improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes. Ability to manage multiple workstreams, coordinate across teams, and deliver enhancements that improve system reliability and service quality.
- Effective Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of delivering clear technical and status updates, presenting findings, and engaging appropriately with stakeholders at various levels.
- AI Skills :
Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning techniques to enhance application functionality and develop intelligent features.
Education
- Bachelor’s/University degree in IT or Computer Science a must.
- Project Management Certification is a plus.
