Global Exchange Trade Fund -Market Making Lead
The Applications Development Technology Senior Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible to lead our global ETF On Screen Market Making. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of developers, overseeing the development and maintenance of our low-latency Market Making platform, and managing relationships with key business stakeholders, compliance, and other partners. The platform is a high-performance, low-latency Java application that processes millions of messages per second and operates across multiple global markets.
Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership and Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a global team of high-performing software engineers. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the career development of team members.
Stakeholder Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure the trading platform adheres to all relevant regulations and policies.
Work closely with infrastructure and support teams to ensure the smooth operation of the trading platform.
Technical Leadership:
Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight for the design, development, and implementation of the low-latency ETF trading platform.
Ensure the platform is scalable, resilient, and capable of handling high message volumes with minimal latency.
Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
Project Management:
Manage the team's project portfolio, including project planning, prioritization, and resource allocation.
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software releases.
Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
15+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on low-latency, high-throughput systems.
5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
In-depth knowledge of financial markets, particularly Electronic Trading and Market Making. Deep familiarity with the ETF product lifecycle (creation, redemption, and trading) is highly preferred.
Experience working in a global, multi-market environment.
Skills:
Technical Skills:
Expert-level proficiency in Java and its ecosystem.
Extensive experience with low-latency programming techniques and performance tuning.
Strong understanding of messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, Solace, or similar).
In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast).
Experience with multi-threading, concurrency, and distributed systems.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
Familiarity with C++ is a plus.
