Prime Services Technology Business Analysis Senior Manager - Vice President
The Business Analysis Senior Manager is a senior management-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team.
The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a business analytic team supporting one large system or multiple systems with responsibilities including work allocation, budget and planning, performance evaluation, compensation, staffing and other duties as assigned
- Provide direction and technical leadership on complex, high-impact projects and in all phases of the development and implementation process, ensuring essential procedures are followed
- Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated and unique situations and contribute to formulation of standards and strategies for own area and other functional areas
- Resolve issues that have impact beyond own area and apply in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas
- Work as a team to achieve objectives and negotiate with internal and external parties
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Ability to manage teams.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Experience:
6+ years of progressive experience in business analysis and/or project management within the financial services industry, with a demonstrable track record of delivering large-scale, transformative technology program.
- Communication:
Stellar verbal and written communication skills; able to craft compelling executive narratives, present with authority to MD-level audiences, and translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
- Domain Knowledge:
Deep understanding of Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Risk, Margin, and Funding. Knowledge of Futures & Derivatives Clearing and broader Prime Services is a significant advantage.
- Adaptability:
Proven ability to onboard rapidly to any technology project or program— infrastructure, data, digital, regulatory, or product — regardless of scale or domain and deliver value immediately.
- Jira & Confluence:
Expert-level proficiency for project tracking, RAID management, documentation, and reporting; experience building and maintaining structured Confluence spaces and Jira program board.
- Microsoft O365:
Advanced proficiency across the full suite — PowerPoint (executive-grade decks), Excel (advanced data analysis and modelling), Word, Teams, Share Point, Visio, and Power BI.
- AI Tooling:
Demonstrable, hands-on proficiency with modern AI productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, AI meeting assistants) integrated into project delivery workflows.
- Methodology:
Comprehensive knowledge of business analysis principles and experience across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); strong preference for Agile (Scrum, SAFe) or hybrid delivery experience.
- SQL:
Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis is a plus.
- Certifications (Preferred):
PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, PMI-ACP, CBAP, or equivalent. Agile certifications (SAFe, CSM) are desirable.
Program Delivery & Project Management
- Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale, transformative technology projects and program, from inception and scoping through to implementation and benefits realization.
- Develop, maintain, and re-baseline detailed milestone plans, ensuring all key deliverables, interdependencies, and critical path items are clearly understood and actively managed.
- Execute against multiple competing priorities simultaneously, performing the required combination of business analysis, project management, and stakeholder management with equal rigor.
- Guarantee compliance with PM standard procedures and all applicable programgovernance tools, including issue and risk tracking, escalation frameworks, and scorecard/metrics reporting.
- Demonstrate the flexibility and agility to onboard rapidly to any technology project or program— regardless of size, domain, or complexity — and deliver value from day one.
Business Analysis
- Provide structured input during development and implementation phases, including the formulation and definition of systems scope, objectives, and necessary enhancements for complex, high-impact initiatives.
- Consult with business clients to elicit, document, and validate system functional specifications, producing high-quality business requirements documents, process maps, and user stories.
- Evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements; recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements by analyzing business processes, systems, and industry standards.
- Provide in-depth, sophisticated analyses with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions, and influence strategic functional decisions across the program.
- Partner with multiple management teams and functional groups — including Risk & Margin, Equity Finance, Prime Brokerage, Futures & Derivatives Clearing, Finance, Compliance, and Front Office — to drive execution of requirements and ensure alignment with Citi standards.
Stakeholder Management & Executive Governance
- Chair and facilitate executive-level governance forums and stakeholder meetings with participants up to and including Managing Director level, commanding the room with authority, clarity, and professionalism.
- Implement and enforce a gold-standard meeting lifecycle across all governance touchpoints:
- Pre-Meeting:
Distribute structured agendas with timed slots, curated pre-read materials, and clearly flagged decision items 48–72 hours in advance; send personalized briefing notes to senior attendees; confirm attendance proactively.
- During Meeting:
Facilitate with precision — enforce agenda discipline, capture decisions and actions in real time, ensure every item concludes with a clear outcome (decision, action, or escalation), and manage airtime to keep discussions outcome-focused.
- Post-Meeting:
Circulate polished meeting minutes within 24 hours, including all decisions, assigned actions, owners, and due dates; update RAID logs and program plans accordingly; track action completion at subsequent governance touchpoints.
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders, managing competing priorities and driving consensus without formal authority.
- Produce executive-grade status reports, program dashboards, and narrative updates tailored to MD-level audiences, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable business language.
AI Tooling & Technology Enablement
- Demonstrate extreme proficiency with modern AI tools — including Generative AI platforms, AI-powered meeting assistants, intelligent document drafting, and workflow automation — integrating them into day-to-day delivery workflows to drive measurable productivity gains.
- Leverage the full Microsoft O365 application suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Share Point, Visio, Planner, One Note, Power BI) to produce best-in-class program artefacts, communications, and data analysis.
- Champion the adoption of AI-powered productivity tools and modern delivery practices across the program team, coaching others on effective usage.
Risk, Control & Compliance
- Identify, communicate, and document risks and impacts proactively, proposing effective mitigation options and maintaining a clear escalation path and resolution cadence.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy and applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct, and business practices.
- Escalate, manage, and report control issues with full transparency.
